What is the ECO Scheme?

what is eco4 scheme (Energy Companies Obligation) scheme was introduced in 2013 to encourage energy suppliers to install energy-saving measures in properties across the UK. It has undergone several reforms, most recently to ECO4. The purpose of the scheme is to make British homes less energy-inefficient, which in turn cuts costs and reduces carbon emissions.

ECO4 is the latest phase of the ECO scheme and will run until 2026. During this final phase, energy companies are incentivised to deliver measures such as insulation, heating systems, and renewables like district heating and heating controls. Landlords can benefit from delivering energy-saving measures to tenants as it reduces their operating expenses and carbon footprint.
